This guy is one of my favorite stories:
Casey Cypert was not expected to be much more then a part time player if he even ever made it to the bigs. But the 39th rd. pick in the ABA's very first draft choice had other thoughts. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 1973 with (.289 35 104). The 37 year old veteran is currently in his 14th season and showing no signs of slowing down. He's off to a torrid pace in 1986 batting (.436 13 36) through 26 games. Here are some of this 9-time all-star's career numbers:
