If you're going to convert, it's a must if the L/R ratings issue is important to you. The patch won't correct what's already done, it'll only make sure it doesn't happen
upon conversion. IMHO, that's the reason this patch became a priority so soon: to enable more '8 users to get converted w/o difficulties.
