Spent hours obsessively scouting. I'd make my short lists of my top 20 guys at each rating in each weight class and ponder them for days. Would only play test guys against each other if I was making a choice between two or three guys. As an initial expansion team I came in with a severe cap restriction and could only select two 9's. The only edge i had was knowing what the rosters in the league looked like. This enabled me to at least place my 9's in the weight class where i thought they would be most effective.

You are right Bear. the "extra" points from low rated fighters is often what makes or breaks a team.
On my team Gibbs, Ruelas, Briceno and Thomas has performed quite well considering their ratings. McGuigan and Anifowoshe are two high rated fighters that has to pick up the pace if they are to stay on the team the next season. Don't think I will be doing any big changes in the roster this season.
With that said if anyone feels like making a trade proposal I am always listening. A reinforcement in the LW division would be interesting.
