I actually like the chronology. Remember, these games are being played according to that chronology, and one of the windows in the in-game screen allows you to see games-in-progress.
The problem that I have with this function is that it has been downgraded from OOTP 6. In the old version the other games could be followed from the main screen. In the current version you have to click to a different window to see the results.
This change was a
function-killer for me. While I used to watch it all the time in the old version, I now have it turned off in the current version. I would be surprised if many people who play out their games are now using this feature. In my mind, it won't be of any use unless it is put back onto the main screen for people to view as if they were watching the scoreboard at a game.
