I see this as the lingering effects of having "Marc" Duffy around and so prominently posting last year. For North Americans at least, I would assume the impulse would be to go with "Mark" rather than "Marc" so, given time, "Marcus" should disappear for the most part.

That's to his credit. Yet, I hold him responsible for proper spelling in his game (few things in computer games bother me way out of proportion to importance like a typographical error), so the least I can do is spell
his name correctly!
