Phillies Send Briggs to Milwaukee for Helms
The Philadelphia Phillies traded outfielder Johnny Briggs to the Milwaukee Brewers for second baseman Tommy Helms.
Briggs, 28, hit just .239 last season, however he hit 20 home runs and drove in 69 runs.
Helms, 31, hit .248 with the Brewers. He hit one home run and knocked in 24. Originally a Cincinnati Red, this marks the second time Helms has been traded.
The trade comes a day after Philadelphia shipped Willie Montanez and Tony Taylor to Cincinnati for Pat Dobson and Lee May.
