I'm kinda sick of hearing a lot of people say "Nobody saw them there, let alone in the playoffs!"

The first reason is that... well.. I don't see what we learn from it. That they did better than expectations? Oh, ok, so what? Why are predictions so important? It's the result that counts, whether you were predicted to finish 2nd or 13th.

The second reason is that several people put them in the playoffs. I did - although, nowhere near 1st place (I was thinking 6th-8th).

As for Kovalev, I have no problems saying he's overrated. He's elegant, beautiful on the ice, and he's a pretty fine hockey player - but some players are calling for him to be the MVP - come on, now. His 84 points are his second-highest total ever, and he's been in the NHL since 1992. Is he a great player? Yeah. He's the best forward the Habs have. However, putting him at the top of the MVP list is clearly overrating him.
