Both fighters try to work on the inside in a very slow 1st round. Arguello brings it to Cabana in the 2nd, 16-8. 24-6, in favor of Arguello in the 3rd as Cabana develops some swelling issues. Cabana is trying get inside and works the body in the 5th, 12-8. Arguello lets his hands loose in the 6th, 21-4. Cabana is throwing too many looping punches while Arguello's are straight, crisp and right down the middle, 23-6, in the 7th. Cabana's eye is really starting to give him problems as Arguello continues to target it with every punch. I dont think Cabana even landed a single punch in the 9th, 11-0. Cabana does a better job of cutting off the ring but it is still a close round in favor of Arguello, 10-8, in the 10th. Arguello blisters Cabana for most of the 12th and the fight is finally stopped after the doctor feels that the eye has become a health issue.
