[45] Jose Napoles, Cuba, 9-1-0 (8) vs [27] George Foreman, USA, 17-5-0 (17)
Big George Foreman has been struggling a bit recently and is looking to get back on track against an impressive, up and coming, Cuban heavyweight that has recently entered the top 50 in the world rankings. Jose Napoles brings his brilliance all the way from Cuba to show the world that he is ready for the big fights and main events. Napoles opens up and thunders forward without any fear of Foreman's punching power and embarrasses his opponent with a 30-4, 1st round. Foreman is lucky to have survived that round as the referee was looking very closely at Big George. Foreman is prodded on by his corner and lands some thudding shots that hurt Napoles to both the head and body, 16-11, in the 2nd. 22-14, Foreman in the 3rd, as Napoles had Foreman on his heels to start the round but was also warned for a head-butt that stopped the momentum he had going. A close round, 15-14, Foreman in the 4th. Both fighters are exchanging blows but Napoles has to be wary of Foreman's power even though he seems to be getting tired. Napoles is taking serious punishment in the 7th, 27-2, and is able to get out of the round. A close 8th sees Napoles warned for a third foul, this one a low blow. An overhand right puts Foreman down in the 9th. Foreman's conditioning is a big factor in this fight right now. A short hook puts Foreman down again in the 10th. A second knockdown may be it but Foreman gets up again. No, that is it as the fight has been stopped.
Winner: Napoles
Result: (TKO10)
Cards: 87-83, 86-84, 85-84, all three cards in favor of Foreman
Punch stats: 216-526, 41.1% Foreman - 293-470, 62.3% Napoles
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, USA, 13-3-0 (11) vs Floyd Johnson, USA, 14-2-0 (12)
The opening round is an all-out slugfest, 12-11, in favor of Johnson. The 2nd round starts the way the 1st ended, 17-9, in favor of Johnson. The heavy hands of Johnson have taken their effect on Rampage as he has suffered two cuts in the first two rounds; one over the right eye and the other inside of the mouth. There is a lot of blood coming from the mouth of Rampage which is not a good sign so early in the fight. Swallowing so much blood can slow a fighter down and cause some nausea. Rampage throws a left that misses and is knocked down from a counter right in the 4th. Jackson has developed some swelling around the right eye to go along with all the problems he already has. The 5th and 6th are just as action packed as the rest of the fight and just as hard to call. Rampage seems to have gotten the better of it in the 6th and 7th. A solid cross by Johnson sends Rampage down for the second time in the fight in the 8th. A hard hook by Rampage seems to have hurt Johnson in the 9th as he is clutching his side. 14-12, Johnson in the 10th. This fight has been non-stop since the opening bell sounded, 11-8, Johnson in the 11th. Rampage eats a right hook and is down again in the 12th. Rampage is going to need a miracle to win here tonight as he is too far behind on the cards. Jackson takes the 14th but it is a little bit too late. Rampage drops Johnson at the start of the 15th. He is trying to follow up and produce the miracle that we talked about. But the bell sounds as Rampage just didnt have enough time to try to close the show with a stoppage.
