For me it ends up as a 2 for 1 trade most times.

Another one of my house rules is trades can only be 1 for 1, or 2 for 2. What Im trying to do is put some checks in place so I dont constantly rip off the AI. Not that my pee sized brain is any smarter than the AI, but in the long run Im sure I could stack my team by finding the most lopsided offers. Thats why I try to establish the house rules.
In this particular case, using the shop player option, Washington offered a few guys for Block, but they were either has-beens or never-will-be's. When I used the make this work now option for Brown, Washington asked for a few good players that I wasnt ready to give up (Red Murray and Al Shaw were two that I remember), but they would also take Block doing it this way. Bruno looks like he will be a good player, but I felt I already had the depth at catcher to send him away (I had recently moved him from my AA club to AAA)
I did end up making the trade, but for the most part I think I will hinder myself by continuing to use the shop player option for seeking trades (if the AI comes to me with an offer, I have no problem accepting it if I want), but occasionally I might use the make this work now option.
