It's not just a matter of altering the schedule, it's a matter of whether the games are "really happening," for example whether players injured in the exhibition game will then be injured for the "real" games in the schedule.
My own preference is actually for the "real" exhibitions, as it presently exists. You
can play any two teams against each other that you like, but then the pitchers aren't available for the league game the next day, or whatever. The stats are permanently recorded under the Exhibition tab. In other words, the games are treated the same as any other games that take place in that world, except that they don't count in standings.
However, I understand why some folks would like the ability to do the instant, "imaginary" matchups, with no
effect on the game world.
