Bio: The great grandson of former major league failure Einnor Ilitneg. Growing up in Iceland listening to his great grandfathers tales of major league stardom, he was challenged by him at an early age to match his greatest accomplishment... a no-hitter. At age 9 Gunnar moved the the US with his grandfather and settled in the city of Colton, CA. Gunnar tried out for the local little league team in 1970 and tried out to be a pitcher, much like his hero, grandpa Einnor. His rocket arm indeed resembled his grandfathers... as did his errant pitches. Of the 30 he threw the backstop could only catch 8. He was moved to Shortstop, and once on level ground he showed dramatic improvement and remained there ever since. While his arm is well known, his ability to strikeout is even better. In his senior year at Colton High, he racked up an amazing 78k's in 200 AB's. Whats even more incredible is his .500 average despite that number which lead to his decision in going pro.

Despite these talents teams may be wary of his drinking habits, and his arrest record. While his grandpa Einnor was known for his much recognized drinking binge after his no hitter which led to a hospitalization, Gunnar has taken a different approach. After a golden sombrero in his state championships, Gunnar had a battle with the 151 bottle, and lost. In a drunken stupor he attempted to jump off a rooftop into a pool, and missed. While escaping with his life, his legs have been an injury issue ever since. When asked where he expects to go in the draft, Gunnar replied..."I dont care, whoever it is better pay me, cause ill be going to a winner in 6 years."
