Just got back from vegas and would like to point out some observations. It was a great spectacle and the travelling army of ricky fans made the atmosphere unbeliveable. the wiegh in was intresting foresight into why the morons booed the national anthem, rickys support was phenomanal and to try and counter act that and find some identityfor the pretty boy the american flag became a big part of floyd`s entrance (they even shipped in 100 local school kids who were flag waving) . 80 percent of all americans i spoke to pre fight wanted ricky to win, never before has there been a more unpopular champ?. pbf maxed it out coming into the ring to born in the usa ...... clever pr stuff cos this fight was not about usa vs uk but the crowed had been suked in , then came the usa anthem which was booed much to my and any decent englishmens embarresment.(deepest apologies). every non commited american was now rooting for pbf , the old five card trick!
Cortez wasnt exactly great but the simple fact was pbf outclassed hatton stopping him on the inside and leaving himself with no plan b. floydd moved to a new level than what we have seen and put on a master class , hatton got fustrated and left himself wideopen, the rest is history. pbf spoke well after the fifght and was full of praise for hatton . pbf will become an all time great and i say that through gritted teeth , not sure if ricky will ever be the same.
on another note hopkins got sucked in by the crowd at the weigh in and squared up to calzaghe , i believe the fight is on in april, bhop looked much bigger and i fear another british defeat but hopefully the fans wont shane themselves this time.
