Miami- David Ortiz hit a 3-run homer in the first and Daniel Cabrera allowed two runs in 6 innings as Dominican Republic won the second Baseball World Cup.
Aramis Ramirez and Rafael Furcal also homered for the Dominicans, who lost in the quarterfinals in 2009.
Carlos Guillen and Omar Infante had two hits apiece for Venezuela. Carlos Zambrano couldn't get out of the 4th inning, yielding four earned over 3.2 innings.
Dominican Republic's only loss in this year's World Cup came to the United States in pool play.
