2005 Cleveland Indians San Francisco Giants Cleveland Indians
2006 Tampa Bay Devil Rays St. Louis Cardinals St. Louis Cardinals
In the American League East the dominant team has been the Baltimore Orioles finishing in 1st place 5 of the 7 seasons that have been played. They have only had marginal success in the post season though winning their only World Series title in 2001 defeating te Colorado Rockies. The rest of the division has been pretty stable witht he Devil Rays, Blue Jays, Yankees and Red Sox battleing for 2nd place int he division. the Yankees have finished in second place 4 times, the Jays once and the Devil Rays twice. The only tem to not make the post season out of the AL East has been the Boston Red Sox wh have been in the basement of not just the AL East but the league for the last couple of years. They have managed to accumulate some high draft picks and do have a pretty talented group of young players coming up through their system and could be a condender very soon.
