February, 1964 Boston Red Sox Happenings
2/10/64
The Boston Red Sox sent 33-year old third baseman Frank Malzone to the Houston Colt .45's for 33-year old pitcher Gordon Jones.
Manager's thinkings: I just can't figure out what the GM is thinking. Malzone did pretty well for us in 1963, batting .291 with 15 homers and 71 ribbies in 580 at bats. Now the GM has swapped for a couple of minor league relievers since the beginning of the year, Mike Cuellar and now Gordon Jones.
