Blue Jays Kick Off 2013 Season With Win at Home Against Baltimore

The Toronto Blue Jays began their quest for a 4th consecutive World Series Championship today on the right foot with a 7-1 win over Baltimore in front of a sellout crowd at the Rogers Center in Toronto.

Recap:
SS Richard Evans homered in the first inning and would go 2-5 with 1 HR 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored on the day. Rookie CF Rick Bjork got the start and would not dissapoint going 2-4 with his first HR of the year and 2 RBI and Rookie 1B Javier Gomez went 2-3 with 1 RBI and 2 walks. SP Andy Simmons was given the ball and he wowed a sellout crowd as he pitched all 9 innings giving up 5 hits and only 1 earned run. He struckout 9 and did not walk a batter.
