Toronto's Montero Takes Home 2011 MVP Award
November 8th 2011.
Felipe Montero went on a year long hitting rampage against American League pitchers and was rewarded for a spectacular season with the 2011 MVP Award.
The Toronto left fielder belted the opposition for 212 hits 31 2B, 10 3B, 21 HR and drove in 95 while scoring 138. He hit .342 and posted a .423 OBP.
GM Ryan Stewart on his young LF "It is pretty increadable to win both the AL Rookie of the Year Award and the American League MVP Award in the same season but this kid put up some special numbers. He could have had added to his totals as well but missed the last few weeks of the regular season with an injury and we missed him for the entire playoffs. He is healthy again now and we expect him back at 100 % for Spring Training in MArch"
