Rash of Injuries Continues: Montero Hurt Will Miss 7-8 Weeks

The Blue Jays got more bad news today as they learned that their star rookie LF Felipe Montero will miss the next 2 months with an injury.

"I'm frustrated right now" Said Jays LF Felipe Montero. "I can't help this team win by sitting on the bench or in the trainers room" Ubfortunately for the Jays that is where he will be spending the next 7-8 weeks. Montera suffered a srtained Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in tdays game against Boston while running the bases. "Believe me" he said "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be"

This season he has mustered a .342 BA with 212 hits in 619 AB's. He has 21 HR and scored 138 runs while driving in 95 of his own.

GM Ryan Stewart on yet another injury "Wow, we have been a little bit snake bitten with the injuries lately. This one really hurts as Montero was blossoming into a very good LF. He will be placed on the 60-day disabled list and CF Rick Bjork will stay with the team and take over in LF for the post season" Bjork like his teammate CL CLaudio Vargas will have a unique oppertunity to win both the International League Crown as well as the World Series Title int eh Same year.
