Edwards will Stay in Toronto for 4 more Years

The Toronto Blue Jays announced today that they have come to terms with a new 4 year contract extension for C Hugh Edwards. The contract is for 4 years at $63,000,000. It averages out to $15,750,000 per season. This is nearly a $7 million dollar a year raise from the contract he signed as a free agent with Toronto in 2007. GM Ryan Stewart on the signing "We probably overpaid a little to keep him here but I believe he is worth it. His statistics have gotten better each year he has been with the organization and he is just now heading into his prime and we think his best years are still ahead of him"

In 2011 Edwards is hitting .293 with 7 HR and has 27 RBIs.
