But...with teams under .500 (80-82, usually) making the playoffs -- though not actually getting super far -- but it's just not very interesting and even with an unbalanced schedule, you just have too many bad teams winning their divisions and so, I think I'm going to realign this coming season into a different format, I'm not sure yet whether it'll be 4 divisions with 2 wild cards or three divisions with 1 wild card.

If it were real life? I'd have to say that it ought to be 4 divisions of 8, allow the 4 division champs to advance to the Division Series and add a wild card round that includes four wild card teams.

But since OOTP doesn't allow that format, it's not an option in my fictional scenario.

My upcoming dynasty's going to have 32 in four divisions of 8. Only the division champs make the playoffs.
