TORONTO - NHL Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell has ruled the Philadelphia Flyers will be punished for the hit Flyers defenseman Randy Jones delivered on Bruins center Patrice Bergeron on Saturday.
"This is the third incident I've had to assess from the Flyers this year, and quite frankly I'm sick of it. It's interrupting my nap time," Campbell said. "So effective immediately, I am instructing the Philadelphia Flyers organization to play the soothing music of John Tesh in the dressing room prior to every game."
Sources inside the Flyers organization say the players are extremely unhappy with the ruling. On Sunday when officials tested Tesh's latest cd, two Flyers players received minor injuries during a stampede out of the dressing room.
When news of the punishment was released, Las Vegas bookies changed the odds of the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup from 2-1 to 100,000-1. Only The Toronto Maple Leafs have worst odds.
