Jays Win Season Opener in Boston

April 5rd, 2010.

The Toronto Blue Jays won their season opener against the Red Sox today in Boston in front of a sellout crowd 8-1. Toronto Rookie RF Alonso Martinez got the start in RF and did not dissapoint going 2-5 with 2 doubles and scored 2 runs. 2B Nathan Elliott went 2-4 with a triple and 3 RBI and 1B Nathan Wilder drove in a pair with a double. 8 runs was more than enough offence as SP Christian Jacobs showed why he was the American League Cy Young Award Winner last year going 9 innings giving up only 6 hits and 1 run while walking 2 and striking out 4 for the victory.
