Evans Takes Best Bat Trophy in September

Richard Evans of the Toronto Blue Jays really stood out at the plate during the month of September. The red-hot short stop manhandled American League pitchers by banging out a .437 batting average on his way to the American League Batter of the Month Award.

Evans collected 45 hits with 7 HR and 37 RBI and scored 24 times.

In 2009 Evans is batting .302 with 24 HR and 124 RBI playing in 158 games and scoring 114 times.
