Well the Devil Rays just came to town and we got our first series win winning games 1 and 3. In game one Christian 'Beer Barrell" Jacobs went 8 innings and only gave up 4 hits and 1 earned run to get his first win of the season. Two day later in game #3 not to be out done 37 year old Tenshin Imai went 8 strong innings giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 4 to get his first win of the season. In the middle game of the series 23 year old Bill Arkell also went 8 innings but our inability to muster much offence killed a great performance as we could only manage 5 hits and Tampa won 3-0. Interms of offence therw is nothing great to write home about pretty much everyone is struggling but I expected this from this team as they are still relatively young.
GM's Thoughts:
I am suprised at how well our pitching staff was been throwing for the first 2 series. We got 8 innings from all 3 of our starters against Tampa Bay If we could just score some runs we could be a very dangerous team.
