But a healthy Moss in his prime is more of a weapon than Rice was in his prime, IMO. And I was an absolutely huge Niners fan in that Craig/Rathman/Rice/Talor/Montana/Jones era, so it hurts me to say that.
I guess my response to that would be to say let's look at that first 10 years of Rice's career vs that of Randy Moss and this is before Rice had quite possibly his best year and one of the most amazing years ever in 1995.

Rice 820-13275-131
Moss 698-11103-106

Now Moss still has 13 games left in this year to add to thos numbers but as good as he is and as good as the Patriots are I still don't think he is going to add another 122 catches for 2172 yards and 25 tds in the next 13 games. When Moss puts up an 1800 yard season or a 22 td season (in 12 games mind you) then I will be more believing of his dominance. I just wonder as well how much further out JR's numbers would have been had Warren Sapp not ruined his knee in 1997 on that cheap play tackle.

Moss is an incredible talent and it is unfortunate that he took many plays off in his career so far as that tarnishes his ability in my eyes and many others. And I am sure people are going to say oh numbers are deceiving and all that but it isn't like there are any intangibles that Moss has over Rice, Rice was a great downfield blocker, ran the ball well adding tds there and even threw for tds as well. So I guess I just don't see it. But that is the great thing about sports everyone is entitled to their opinion on players.
