Title fights
FW (WBA) - Oscar Gardner (CH) (25-6-1) had a tougher fight than expected but scored a MD15 over Jerry Barnett (9/13) (20-8) for his first defense of the WBA title.
Close fight with no knockdowns or cuts. Barnett was penalized a point in the 12th round. I had it 145-142, the official judges had it 146-141/143-143/145-142.
FW (CBU) - Johnny Dundee (UR/9) (15-0) (pre) got a big win with a MD12 over Frank Robson (11/18) (19-2-6) for his first defense of the CBU FW title.
Robson won 4 of the first 5 rounds and appeared to be on his way to an easy win, but Dundee battled back controlling the second half of the fight. I had it 115-113, the official judges saw it 115-113/115-115/116-114. There were no knockdowns or cuts.
