My test wasn't much more than yours. I took a SP who pitched in relief 1-2 innings. After the game he was at 10%. When I changed him to MR his status changed to 70%. From this I conclude he could have pitched the next day as a MR but not as a SP.
T'would be nice to have this definitively tested.
