Title Bouts
LW (WBA) - Abe Attell (11/CH) (38-12-3) won his first Lightweight title with a TKO13 over Dave Holly (CH/6) (21-9-8). Attell had won the FW title a couple of times but had failed in 3 previous attempts at the LW crown.
It was a close fight but Holly was cut over the left eye in the 6th and it continued to be reopened until the ring doctor stopped the fight in the 13th.
I had it 124-123 Attell at the time. The official judges had it as a SD for Holly.
LW (USBA) - Kid Fredericks (18/15) (17-1-1) scored a nice UD12 win over Jack Keenan (14/18) (19-4-2) to retain his USBA LW title for the second time.
Fredericks recovered from a first round knockdown to dominate the last half of the fight. I had him winning the 5th through the 11th on his way to a 115-112 decision. The official judges saw it 114-113/115-113/114-113.
