1947 AL Gold Glove Winners Announced

Pontiac, Ill.--With the Livingston County League 1947 World Series in the books, the American League Gold Glove team was announced Monday.
Catcher Bill Salkeld of Blackstone and second baseman Frankie Gustine of Emington were repeat winners from last year's team.
"Six different teams are represented, which says a lot," said veteran sports writer Max Mercy.
Emington, Long Point and Flanagan each held two spots on the Gold Glove roster.
Pitcher: Hank Wyse (Long Point Pirates)
Catcher: Bill Salkeld (Blackstone Bears)
First Baseman: Earl Torgeson (Emington Patriots)
Second Baseman: Frankie Gustine (Emington Patriots)
Third Baseman: George Kell (St. Paul Saints)
Shortstop: Buddy Kerr (Long Point Pirates)
Left Fielder: Charlie Keller (Flanagan Falcons)
Center Fielder: Goody Rosen (Flanagan Falcons)
Right Fielder: Al Zarilla (Cayuga Braves)
