To make matters worse...this same judge DID NOT give Morales a 10-8 score in the 1st round...when he DID score a clean knockdown of Diaz...
Judges in boxing today just seem to be getting worse and worse...

Although I wasn't scoring the fight, I can't see any round in it as a 10 - 8.
I don't root for a particular fighter when I'm watching a fight. I'm more interested in seeing a good bout. Although Diaz has a local following I can't describe myself as a partular fan of his. He did look better Saturday than he did against Favela the last time I saw him in live action.
I have an easier time scoring fights when I watch a tape with the sound turned off so I'm not influenced by either the broadcasters of the crowd.
Judging a fight while there live is a little harder for me. Some of the action
gets blocked by the crowd. Crowd partisanship makes it tough. It was hard to really gauge the effectiveness of Diaz's agression because it was cheered for so boistrously. It was easy to appreciate the canniness of El Terrible and his counter attacks. Aggression versus guile. Two world class fighters giving there all for twelve rounds. While watching the War for Four I was happier as a spectator. Wouldn't have wanted a judge's chair.
