I was going after a decent 3b and was in a bidding war with 1 team. I looked at his roster and he had a 3b already that was better. I was behind in the bidding. So I got cagey and traded my 3b to the team competing against me giving him 1 good 3b and 1 ok backup. I thought that the other team would then take back the offer since they didn't need him anymore. I then lowered my offer. It didn't work. The other team never withdrew the offer which was stupid. My final offer was 2.6 mil and he signed for 2.4 mil other team for 1 more year, but he kep telling me the contract was fine, the money wasn't enough. I then traded for the guy saving 200,000. The other team accepted the offer quickly and cheaply. Didn't seem right though. The leading bidder is the only team that can withdraw an offer as long as the player has not accepted - right?
