Ron Guidry didn't become a starter in real life until 1977, his third year in the majors. Here is what I suggest if you don't want to wait that long:
1) start a new league and use 1977 as the first year
2) go to the NY Yankees and write down Guidry's ratings
3) go back to your league and in commish mode, edit Guidry
