Finances and personnel
I think, but I am not sure, that something is going wrong when running an online league using personnel:
As the off season begins:
1) Two teams send in ftp exports signing the same staff member.
2) Of course, only one team gets the staff member -- so far, so good. However, both teams show a signing in their transaction reports, which is odd and probably should not happen.
3) More seriously, there appears to be an irregularity in the finances on the Front Office page. A team NOT actually getting the staff member is now has $1.47 million in staff expenses for the new year. This is not exactly the cost of the entire multi-year contract (which was posted but did not actually occur), but it is very odd nonetheless.
4) So I think to myself, maybe that $1.47 million in staff expenses has nothing to do with this failed attempt at a contract, maybe it is payment for the first few days of work for existing personnel for this team -- but that makes no sense either, because most teams have a zero at this point.
5) So I check to see whether all the teams with a cost for personnel have dismissed personnel in mid-contract... However, it appears to me that that is not the case, although they all had staff retirements or non-extensions... But those should not cost money -- unless it is the original problem: the attempts to sign new coaches, successful or not, causing teams to be charged money.
So, to sum up, I think something is going wrong with finances involving personnel, but I cannot really tell what it is that is occurring.
