I had a situation last year where I was talking with our Director of Security and I said something like "It's great that the Cards signed Frank Simoneaux, but at 19 million a year its a huge risk" Right after I said it I was thinking how I just confused OOTP with RL.

It was Version 6.5 and I was GM'ing the Cards and had just signed Simoneaux after late night bidding war.

The guy I was talking to was very puzzled. I can just picture him refreshing the transaction page on mlb.com to try and find the Simoneaux signing.
I've never been that bad, but when I lose a bidding war in OOTP for a player that is a free agent IRL, I find myself saying in discussions "Didn't he go to ______," saying the OOTP team.

People wonder where I got my bad info, but it's my little secret. When I realize my error, I usually just cover it up by saying that I read something about it in a newspaper or on the internet.
