I have a copy of that fight among my collection, and the referee was an absolute joke, but if my memory serves me correctly I believe one of the announcers saying under the current W.B.A. rules of the day a fighter could not
lose his belt by DQ. Pedroza was the modern day version of Fritzie Zivic and
Al "Bummy" Davis, he was as dirty as they come.

As for Ruby Goldstein, I think the fault also has to go to the NYSAC for giving the assignment to Goldstein only a few months after a very serious Heart Attack
and was clearly in no condition to be in the ring.
