I just don't think contract negotiation that doesn't involve at least one proposal from both sides is realistic. Quite frequently you'll hear in the real-world press "Blablala player wants 15 million for 3 years, but management wont budge from their 10 million/4 year offer."

I've never heard "Management offered 10 million/4 years, then the player and his agent, deeply offended by management's lack of psychic ability, stormed out of the room chanting "Had your chance, had your chance!"
