Back on the first, we got some bad news. Frank Tanana will be sidelined for 1-2 weeks. Doctors are saying he has a dead arm and will just need to rest. He's 10-5 with a 3.23 ERA and I hate to lose him.

The All Star rosters were announced today. Most players will get a well deserved three day break with friends and family while others will show their skills to the world. Several Angels will be busy during the break. Bill Singer, Nolan Ryan and Luis Quintana will be part of the AL pitching staff. Tommy McCraw was named a backup for the field. Joe Lahoud did make the team for the NL with Cincinnati. In 42 games, since being traded to the Reds, he is batting .303 with 6 home runs and 21 RBI. Not much of a drop off. I'm still confident of the trade. I did note that he has not been signed to an extension by them either.
