My Dad (he's 60) and I play in a two-person on-line league. There are 16 teams, eight in each league, and we each control one team per league. While we can't manage against each other in head-to-head play, I have the league uploaded to a website, and he exports instructions. We simulate a couple of weeks at a time. For us, the favorite parts of the season are draft day and the free agency period. We are both stat junkies and so we love getting a number of seasons completed and developing good career leaderboards.

In our opinion, this is so much better than simple arcade play. You can focus on the managerial aspects of the game (e.g. lineup and rotation selection, setting general strategies), but just not in an in-game setting.
