Minnesota came out and let us know right away we werent leaving with a sweep. They knocked Gobble around for 5 runs in the first, and he had to be pulled after only getting one out. The Twins tacked on 2 more in the 3rd and their last in the 5th to put us down 8-0. I thought the guys would pack it in and be in a hurry to get to the airport. However, we put together a little rally of our own. We scored 5 in the 8th to pull within 3. Stavinsky led off the 9th with a home run. Gload grounded out to short. Gathright took an 0-2 pitch down the first-base line for a double, and advanced to third on a groundout by Emil Brown. Garciaparra hit a double of his own to score Gathright, pull us within one, and put the tying run in scoring position with Teahen coming up. However, Teahen struck out swinging to end the game.
