A five run fourth inning propelled the
Royals to a series victory over the
Boston Red Sox.
Tom Tresh and
Lou Piniella both had a couple of hits in pacing the
KC offense.
Tresh, along with
Joe Keough, also contributed 2 rbis as the
Royals wound up their series in Fenway.
It should be noted that
Tom Tresh also extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Bad news for the
Royals, however, as starter
Al Fitzmorris left in the third inning with back spasms. Initial reports are that its not serious though.
POG Kansas Citys Tom Tresh 2 for 5, 2 RBI, 1 3B, 1 R
Its always a good thing to get a series win, said shortstop
Tom Tresh. Those guys are tough and its really nice to get this road trip started on the right foot.
It was a very intense spasm, said
KCs team doctor
Lou Howard when asked about Al Fitzmorris. We dont think its serious, so were going to give him some muscle relaxers tonight and take him in for a closer look after we get to New York.
