WEEKLY THOUGHTS
An average week, going 3-4. We gave up a lot of runs, a total of 45 in the 7 games. This week will also start our movement of some of our pending free agents. Again, expect to see a whole new team by the end of the month. Also, there’s reports we could get severe thunderstorms at the All-Star game, so it may be in danger of being cancelled.

TRANSACTION NEWS
Good news for Royals fans. Angel Berroa is no longer associated with the franchise, having been traded to the San Francisco Giants for their 3rd round pick, starter Lariel Souza. This deal finally puts us within our budget for the season, and it will only improve as we keep making changes up to the deadline.

Another trade we made was to send Omaha starting pitcher Seth Etherton to the Arizona Diamondbacks for their first round pick, starting pitcher Manuel Ribera. The fans were pleased we were able to acquire Ribera.

We also waived Todd Wellemeyer with the intention of sending him to Omaha if he clears waivers. To take his place on the roster we called up Leo Nunez from Omaha. To take Berroa’s place on the 40-man roster, we added Wichita left fielder Cody Haerther.
