So, while not a full NTC, it's an effective one. They can't trade Buehrle until after next season, and then there's a 20-month window before he's a 10/5 player and it's irrelevant.
As I mentioned earlier, this could still be an attractive contract to trade
for, if it becomes necessary after the '08 season. 4/60 would be a good price for a proven lefty now, that will probably become a better looking contract in '09 if the Sox decide to deal him down the road.
