Question New Historical Simmer: inflation/deflation, etc.

Hi all:

I'm new to the game and just started my first historical league (beginning in 1960; still in the first year). I'm having a great time, but the league seems a little juiced at this point (it's about two weeks from the All-Star Break; I'm playing out every inning of every game atm, because I think it's so cool). I realize this is a tiny statistical sample, but in both the AL & NL league batting averages, OBP, and Slugging are running 20-25 points higher than the real-life totals, and the league E.R.A's, are, of course, higher too, about 3/4 of an earned run higher for both leagues.

I set the league up using the wizard, and I think I have a pretty standard set-up, and I haven't tinkered around under the hood.

Does this seem within the range of statistical variation that can be expected in historical sims? I felt like the pitcher's batter ratings seemed a little high at creation, and I haven't crunched the numbers, but it seems like there are a number of pitchers sporting hefty averages, and I was thinking that perhaps this is contributing to the bloat. Have I gotten my league off on the wrong foot, or does this seem normal?

Sorry for the noobery and thanks for your help.
