Jim Thome is easily the best thing the Sox have going offensively. Injuries aside, the Sox's struggles aren't the result of his .976 OPS. The problem is that nobody is hitting around him.
The offense's inability to score has made the bullpen's weaknesses that much more glaring, ultimately.
And it appears that Konerko is over his slump - his average is up to .250, and he is hitting .299 with 5 home runs and a .936 OPS in June.
