Frank Robinson gave the Orioles an early lead with his eighth homer on the season and extending his hit streak to 13 games. However, the Royals were able to recover and get 5 runs off of O’s hurler Jim Palmer, highlighted by Lou Piniella’s 2 rbi’s and Pat Kelly’s 4 for 4 day.

Bob Miller had another solid pitching performance and Moe Drabowsky, while a little shaky in the ninth, did get the save.

Claude Osteen and the Dodgers have come to an agreement that will keep the pitcher in Los Angeles for another four seasons. Total value of the contract is rumored to be nearly four million dollars. So far on the season Osteen is 4-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 61 innings.
