World Series Update - 1917
No time for a long writeup today (maybe one of the GMs will do it... hint, hint)
Anyway, the Cubs are again BaTTY champions after winning the 1917 World Series in seven games over the St. Louis Browns - with the seventh game coming down to the 12th inning when Sandy Alomar's two-out single scores Series MVP Jack Clements from second with the championship-winning run. Clements hit .414 for the Cubs. A tough loss for the Browns who battled throughout the Series, including an epic 16-inning victory in game five. Three of the seven games went extras.
