By any rational investigation, Giambi has actually been a very good player for the Yankees, save the season where he was injured most of the time. And the Yanks' 'resurgence' since Giambi has been on the DL has mainly been a result of hitters (Abreu, A-Rod in May) getting over uncharacteristic slumps, and performing as they were projected to.
Of course, all this is based on reasoning, and statistics, and proven methods for analysing baseball performance. It does not take into account curses, intangibles, clutch and/or mystiqueandaura.
