Overall, I think we had a decent Spring Training. We finished with a record of 14-10, tied for first in the division. I know it doesn’t mean much, but I believe it’s a step forward.

Mr. Glass called me into his office to go over his expectations for the season. Before I went, I got into my liquor cabinet and took a few swigs of Crown.

“David, sit down. Wait a minute…is that alcohol on your breath?”

“Umm….yeah, I guess so sir.”

“Well what the hell are you holding out on me for? Go bring it in here!”

I got back and poured us some Crown and Cokes and we started discussing his expectations.

“Now David. You know we haven’t been good for a very, very, long time. That’s why I had to go hire a nobody schmuck like you. Nobody else wanted this job.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Enough will the sir crap. Anyway, I don’t expect miracles. I just expect you to have a winning season this year. Hopefully keep this city interested so I make some money. I can’t think of any other ways to pay old people less to work at Wal-Mart, so it’s getting tough for me to cut costs and make money. And if there’s one thing I love more than alcohol, it’s money. Now get out of here. And thanks for the bottle of Crown. It was a great gift.”

“But…” I started to say, but then realized it was probably better to just let him keep the bottle.

Eric Gagne signed a 1 year extension with the Rangers for $6 million.

Toronto LF Matt Stairs has announced he will retire at the end of the season.

We decided to release 1B Graham Koonce today. He was not going to be on our Opening Day roster, and we could not find any takers for him, so we let him go. Our fans were not happy with this decision though.

So who will be on the Opening Day roster? Stay tuned and find out.
