We traded MR Steve Andrade to the Angels for a group of minor leaguers, the highlight of which of 19-year old SP Tommy Mendoza.

Houston sent RF Jason Lane and minor league RP Anthony DeWitt to Minnesota for SP Scott Baker.

The White Sox acquired SP Dave Bush and minor league RP Robbie Wooley from Milwaukee for CF Jerry Owens and RP Boone Logan.

Colorado traded C Yorvit Torrealba and $775,000 to St. Louis for SP Anthony Reyes and C Earl Mertz. It should be interesting to see how someone with Reyes’ potential does in Colorado.

Tampa Bay traded RF Jonny Gomes and minor league 1B Wes Bankston to Oakland for SP Joe Blanton and minor league CF Ryan Goleski.

I released the dead weight that was Scott Elarton today. It cost $4 million, but it was worth every penny. The worthless bum.

Philadelphia traded C Chris Coste and minor league LF Josh Kroeger to Washington for LF Wayne Lydon and minor league CL Thomas Wilson. I’m sure excited about that trade.
